An accomplished vocalist and composer working in theatrical jazz, and influenced by the sounds of the Mediterranean, West Africa, and its diaspora, Witherspoon has been a vocal contributor to an array of projects featured in the sound section of this website.  Most recently, she created a sound installation at sunrise in a 24-hour tribute to Mexican artist Juan Rulfo curated by Virginia Grise.  She is currently training in Yoruba sacred music with the lead vocalist of Folklorico Nacional de Cuba, Cuba's premiere folkloric dance company.
